Binary Volumetric Octree Representation for Image-Based Rendering
نویسنده
چکیده
A Binary Volumetric Octree (BVO) is a volume array with binary opacity voxels, represented as octree. The BVO structure allows to stores not the complete object volume, but only the surface voxels. The new approach to Image Based Rendering (IBR), using this representation, makes it possible to use single data structure for fast, occlusion-compatible hierarchical warping, splattingbased rendering, and easy level-of-detail selection. This representation allows approximation of multiple depth images with guaranteed solution of the main problem of IBR methods gaps filling (with minor conditions imposed on the originals depth images). The rendering process can be either completely CPUbased, or use hardware assisted texture mapping.

View-Dependent Octree Image Rendering
This paper considers view-dependent rendering method for 3D models represented as binary volumetric octree (BVO) together with reference images and corresponding cameras locations. This representation was proposed and accepted to MPEG-4 AFX (Animated Framework eXtension) as Octree Image Node in the Depth-Image Based Representations (DIBR) group. Originally DIBR-objects were assumed to be diffus...
متن کاملVolumetric-csg | a Model-based Volume Visualization Approach
This paper presents a Volumetric-CSG (VCSG) method for the representation of volumetric objects and their operation, such as transformations, cutting and Boolean operations. A new volume rendering algorithm is developed for visualizing the VCSG models. The algorithm rst generates optimal target blocks for eecient model operations by adaptive subdivision of the target volume, and then volume ren...

Traditionally, the rendering of volumetric terrain data, as many other scientific 3D data, has been carried out performing direct volume rendering techniques on voxel-based representations. A main problem with this kind of representation is its large memory footprint. Several solutions have emerged in order to reduce the memory consumption and improve the rendering performance. An example of th...
متن کاملA Lipschitz Method for Accelerated
Interpolating discrete volume data into a continuous form adapts implicit surface techniques for rendering volumetric iso-surfaces. One such algorithm uses the Lipschitz condition to create an octree representation that accelerates volume rendering. Furthermore, only one preprocessing step is needed to create the Lipschitz-octree representation that accelerates rendering of iso-surfaces for any...
متن کاملModelling and Rendering Large Volume Data with Gaussian Radial Basis Functions
Implicit representations have the potential to represent large volumes succinctly. In this paper we present a multiresolution and progressive implicit representation of scalar volumetric data using anisotropic Gaussian radial basis functions (RBFs) defined over an octree. Our representation lends itself well to progressive level-of-detail representations. Our RBF encoding algorithm based on a M...
